...Charity!
What makes you feel good? A new pair of shoes? Exercising? Volunteering?
All of the above make me feel good, but I get a special satisfaction out of volunteering. This month's happiness project is all about charitable donations. Each blog post (I'm shooting to blog 3-5 times per week...fingers crossed!) will cover a way that I've worked on this month's focus of charitable donations. This time of year, there are so many ways that you can help those in need. There are numerous volunteer opportunities to donate your time and money.
First, I wanted to talk about something that I have been participating in the past several months. It is called Touchdowns for Leukemia. For each touchdown made, the amount of your choice will be donated to St. Jude's Children's Hospital Or, you can make a one-time donation. I decided to participate when I saw Kenzie Ray's mother Keisha post about this fundraiser. Read more about Kenzie's journey at https://www.facebook.com/PrayersForKenzieAndFamily/?fref=ts

I Feel Better When I'm Blogging

Thursday, November 12, 2015
It has been a while since I have blogged. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed blogging...hence the blog title, "I feel better when I'm blogging."
I started reading a book tonight called the Happiness Project by author, Gretchen Rubin. My initial plan was to start blogging again to record my "happiness" project, but because blogging makes me happy, I will probably continue blogging past my 12 month "happiness" project. To understand the full idea of the Happiness Project, visit the author's website at www.gretchenrubin.com.
I'm working on my "outline" for the happiness project. The first month I will focus on charitable donations, which does not necessarily mean monetary. Each week I hope to blog about my experience in the month of December and how giving of my time and money is something that makes me happier.
Since it is November 12, I won't start the happiness project for several weeks, but I'll share little notes or quotes of inspiration and motivation from now through the end of the month.
"What a wonderful life I've had! I only wish I'd realized it sooner."- Sidonie Collete (and mentioned in The Happiness Project.)
